The mission of the International Adoption Clinic is to serve the initial and ongoing medical, developmental and emotional needs of adoptive parents and their children from around the world. We are a non-profit clinic located at Children’s South in Birmingham, Alabama. We are staffed with professionals who have a love for children that have been abandoned in developing countries and desire to see them accepted into loving and well-equipped families.

Most of us have worked in orphanages, adoption agencies or have adopted of our own! Through our interdisciplinary clinic that includes pediatrics, occupational therapy and family therapy, we provide comprehensive medical services to assist parents in their exciting journey through international adoption including pre-adoption and post-adoption services. The clinic has been open for six years now.  Our staff has served children adopted from:  China, Kazakhstan, Russia, Guatemala, Peru, Vietnam, India, Thailand, Ethiopia, Ukraine, and more.

Families travel to our clinic from all over the southeast to attend our "Preparing Families for International Adoption" seminarOur next one is Saturday, June 21st

We are conducting a survey to help us evaluate our services.  Please take a minute or two to give us your feedback.  (You may have to allow pop-ups for this survey - sorry for the inconvenience)

Families from all through out the United States contact our office to receive a Pre-adoption Medical Review by Dr. Jennifer Chambers.

We look forward to hearing from you as well!  You can contact us through completing a contact form on this website, emailing directly to adoption@peds.uab.edu or call Brooke Talley, our Program Coordinator, at 205-939-6964.
